What Is Reiki Therapy?

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. Reiki treats your physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual body through your life force energy and works from the inside out on root cause. What to expect from a Reiki Treatment?

You will be asked to lay down on a therapy couch. You will be fully clothed except for your shoes. You may also be asked to remove or loosen your belt so that your breathing is not restricted in any way. It is best to choose loose-fitting garments to wear on the day of your appointment. Wearing natural fabrics is best (cotton, wool, or linen). You may also be asked to remove any jewelery (rings, bracelets, watch etc.) prior to the session.

Your therapist will gently places her hands in a series of non-intrusive positions on or near the body. There is no massage or manipulation. The whole person is treated rather than specific areas. Sessions can take 45 minutes to an hour depending on your individual need.

What you experience during a Reiki treatment can be different for every individual client. However, feelings of deep relaxation are usually felt by all. Many also feel a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and surrounds them.
