Reflexology

Reflexology works to balance the body. It can increase well being and relaxation, improve mood and sleep and release tension.

What Is Reflexology?

Reflexology is based on the ancient Chinese principle that certain areas on the soles of your feet or hands – known as reflex zones – containing millions of nerve endings, correspond to other parts of the body. Around 3,000 years ago, Asian practitioners were massaging hands and feet applying pressure to certain points to stimulate organs, nerve endings and energy pathways to treat a number of conditions.

Reflexology can work alongside conventional Western medical medicine to promote healing and improve wellbeing and vitality.

What to expect from a Reflexology Treatment?

Reflexology is a non-invasive, natural, relaxing and enjoyable form of pressure therapy. It involves massage and pressure being applied to the feet, hands or face and ears (but is most well known for being on the feet). You will receive a free initial consultation where you will be asked about your medical history, health issues and lifestyle. This so the therapist can tailor your therapy session to your individual need depending on any presenting conditions.

Reflexology is very relaxing and calming. Some clients even fall asleep during the treatment! Whether you want to lie back and relax, sleep or chat it is up to you – it is your ‘me time’! Each reflexology session is a unique experience and each client responds differently. Relaxing background music is played to aid relaxation.

After a treatment clients usually have a feeling of relaxation and balance! You may feel both calm, energised and grounded after a treatment. A re-adjustment process may occur after receiving a treatment which is both positive and very beneficial.
